About Log Lease
Log Lease Ltd has been leasing haulers and logging gear since 2010. Founders, Ross and Lynette Davis have been in the logging industry for over 30 years.
We understand about productivity demands placed on contractors and the need for durable, well maintained, logging gear. We offer haulers and other logging equipment for short term or long term lease.
We help contractors meet the demands of the market and to succeed with less financial risk in this unpredictable industry. We have mechanics who will travel wherever the machines are located if required to ensure minimal downtime.
Meet the team
Rob Smart - Diesel Mechanic
Rob is a qualified Diesel Mechanic and is based out of both our Whangamata and Maramarua workshops.
Married to Gina, Ross’ daughter and Rob joined the family business in 2015 after completing his Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship at Gough CAT Hamilton.
Rob is mechanically minded and works to maintain the Log Lease fleet of Haulers, Falling Machines, Skidders, Bull Dozers and vehicles.
He is a keen problem solver and enjoys using his knowledge when attending mechanical call outs.
He is great communicator, leads workshop operations and maintains supplier relationships. When the opportunity arises, he enjoys getting stuck into rebuilds and other specialised projects.

Sarah Davis - Office Manager / Operations
Sarah manages the Log Lease office, including finances, operations, human resources and customer care. She can be contacted for all general enquiries and office-based queries.
Working in the family logging business since 2010, alongside Dad Ross and brother-in-law Rob, Sarah has a keen head for forestry. She takes a practical, grassroots approach to doing business, and understands the challenges contractors face in their businesses.
She is the Co-Founder and inaugural chair of the Women in Forestry Network, a grassroots movement supporting female business owners in the New Zealand forestry industry.
Sarah has also recently started her own business Frank Communication with her business partner, specialising in bespoke marketing, communications, office management and administration and is a member of the Te Awamutu chamber of Commerce Board.

Ross Davis - Director
Ross has been involved with forestry for more than 35 years. He started working in Murupara and in 1997, after running a small ground base crew he became the key supplier to CHHF in the Hauraki/Coromandel region.
At the peak of business, he had five hauler crews and two ground base crews. It was during this time his passion for haulers started to evolve and in 2001 he imported his first hauler from the United States.
Ross is hugely involved in the broader forestry industry and is a founding member and the current President of FICA (Forest Industry Contractors Association). He is also a member of the FISC (Forest Industry Safety Council) Board and is active in many key decision-making groups within forestry.
Passionate about supporting the next generation of contractors, Ross provides leadership and guidance where he can.
